E Street Band Didn't Play Live at the Super Bowl, OMG

(Take from pitchforkmedia article)

"America's self-righteous obsession with real-time musical integrity never ceases to surprise me. We already know Jennifer Hudson and Faith Hill's Super Bowl performances were sung along with , and now the Chicago Tribune reports that the E Street Band were playing to a pre-recorded track for their halftime appearance. Super Bowl entertainment producer Hank Neuberger told the Tribune that Bruce Springsteen's vocals were the only live audio element of the show."

Pretty funny considering everyone thinks Bruce Springsteen is the shit. Okay, well maybe only New Jersey but still. I could be wrong but isnt the purpose of pursuing a "rock'n'roll" type dream is to play live shows? Kind of makes you wonder why you're stuck at home, on the couch playing Virtua Tennis, unemployed. Fuck it, do it live.

Instead of not playing live I wish Bruce Springsteen didn't play at all. The only good part of the show was seeing Max Weinberg and La Bamba from Conan playing with him. They should have just had Conan do a monologue for fifteen minutes. Bruce Springsteen has got to be the most overrated American in history.

Yeah plus the halftime show was more sparks and fireworks than it was about music, which I feel has been the case for at least a decade. I know the halftime show is a big spot to play but make the most of it, don't pretape that shit. For the record I stand firmly behind FUCK NEW JERSEY AND FUCK BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. I wont lie, I do own his June 4, 1984 released "Born in the USA." However, it holds the one and only song I ever liked by him, "Dancing in the Dark."
